Department of Cultural Studies
Cultural studies represent a branch of study integrating and synthesizing knowledge on culture, people and society. The courses have been built on the extensive professional basis, as well as on the possibilities of individual student’s specialization. Students acquire knowledge in history and determining trends in research within the cultural studies, cultural and social anthropology, sociology and philosophy of culture, history of individual types of art, aesthetics, economics of culture, managing and marketing in culture, law and legislation in culture. The study is divided into two levels - Bachelor’s degree (3 years) and Master’s degree (2 years). Graduates will become qualified research and scientific workers, involved in analytical and conceptual work both in the basic and applied research in the sphere of culture, as well as in various areas of organizing the cultural life in all types of cultural and educational establishments and organizations. They will also be able to work as cultural and educational workers or managers, or to organize and run cultural activities of societies, civic and religious brotherhoods, etc.
