Department of Aesthetics
The Department of Aesthetics runs research activities in different areas of aesthetics - history of aesthetics (from the ancient times until today), theory of aesthetics, axiology, aesthetic aspects of musicology, aesthetic aspects of visual arts, aesthetic aspects of cinematography, literature and dramatic arts, with the primary attention paid to particular and specific problems of classical and modern aesthetics. A significant part of the study is represented by the analysis of particular works of older and modern art. At present the department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD. degree courses in two main disciplines: aesthetics as professional courses and aesthetics within the discipline of Teaching academic subjects (in combination with other subjects, e.g. philosophy, history, pedagogy, etc.).
